Why are they in milk crates?
We were inspired in Puerto Rico while on our Honeymoon. They have a free bookstore right on the sidewalk. We came across it while walking to dinner one night. We spoke to a homeless man who lives there and he said that it started from one crate of books. It just continued to grow after that. People continued to bring books and drop them off.
We absolutely love that free bookstore that was open to anyone at anytime. We loved it so much we decided to start one in the entrance way of our building and call it Turn the Page Bookstore. We have included pictures of the bookstore in Puerto Rico as well as the 2 books that we brought home.
We also are interested in doing a Book Club - we are looking for volunteers interested in running the book club.
